The Hunger Games, subtitled Novel-Ties, A Study Guide

This is one of many books aimed at teachers who want to use the series in their classroom. The book is 28 pages long and contains the following:

A synopsis of the book along with background information.

Pre-reading activities and questions for discussion.

Chapters 1-4 section including matching vocabulary, fill-in-the-blank, essay questions and literary devices.

Chapters 5-8: Matching and fill-in-the-blank questions along with literary device-flashback, language study and predict what will happen next sections.

Chapters 9-12: Matching and fill-in questions along with literary devices, science questions, types of conflict, social studies connection and a writing activity.

Chapters 13-17: Vocabulary questions, music connection, social studies connecition and writing activity.

Chaptes 23-27: Science connection, decision making and writing activities.

Post-reading activities and questions for discussion.

Suggestions for further reading and an answer key.

The pages can be copied and used as hand-outs. If the school severely limits the number of pages that can be copied, though, most of the material can be put on the blackboard and used for discussion. The questions I think are pretty well thought out and it should lead to good classroom discussions.
