Cheeky Angel, volumes 5 and 6

Volume 5

The crooks try to kill the woman but Meg and Genzo intervene to prevent her death. Meg throws a knife at the main crook who is pointing a gun at her and then beats him up. (For a series that is basically humorous, this particular storyline gets to be a little too serious, I think, and really should not have been included in the series.)

Meg's pervert father takes a picture of her and Miki while they are asleep. Meg agrees to go on dates with a couple of the guys. She also tells Miki she's thinking of going to Germany where her mother is. Later a guy accosts Meg and Miki but Kobayashi pulls him off them and beats him up.

The wizard who gave Meg the book in the first place is located. The group goes to confront him and finds him in a building labeled Fortune Teller. It turns out to be the wrong guy, but he says he knows where the actual wizard is.

The house he lives in is suitably spooky, but the cauldron he's using doesn't contain potions; it contains his dinner, curry. The guy says he doesn't really know how to use magic; he just enjoys looking like a wizard.

Although Genzo is set up for a date with Meg he misses it because he has to help one of the other guys who is being beaten up by a gang. Meg finds out what happened and they end up going fishing for crayfish.

Volume 6

Keiko shows up. She's totally stuck on herself. Totally. She's also jealous of Megumi and the attention she gets. She has adult thugs that work for her and also has students that spy for her. She also knows Megumi personally. She tries to get the guys from the group to fall for her but it doesn't work.

Matters get complicated and Meg finally says she'll be the girliest girl she can be. Tasuki, without glasses, has a face that looks like a girl and there's a section of stories about that. Genzo tries to make a chart to figure out how to win Meg for himself. Nothing he tries works, of course.

The next section is about Ichiro and his problems.

Megumi tries to figure out who she feels safe with and who she doesn't. She then gets stuck in an elevator with two guys. Genzo comes to her rescue and she can't figure out her feelings for or relationship with him.
