Doubt!!

Ai Maekawa is an "average" girl in junior high, shy, average looks, no boyfriends. She decides to reinvent herself so she goes to a high school where she believes no one will know her. She spends lots of money on makeup and she tries to change her entire outlook on things, trying to become a "popular" girl.

Things never go smoothly, though, and she has various problems with jealous girls and other students who do know about her "past." She has a boy she's intent on, but she worries about other girls going after him. She finds that life as a "popular" girl isn't that easy to maintain.

It's kind of an interesting series, but really seems to be sort of superficial in what it's dealing with. It's readable and somewhat enjoyable, but not something I will necessarily be rereading any time soon.
