New Tenchi Muyo, volumes 7 and 8

Volume 7

It's the New Year and Ayekas parents pay a visit to the shrine. He and Tenchi have a short fight, but the story is really another one dealing with how nice and innocent Sasami is.

The next story is about really weird things happening at the shrine, like someone leaving sake, doing their laundry, making odd phone calls, etc. It turns out to be a young girl.

The next story involves a girl who is temporarily paralyzed in her legs and who is a writer and also wants to meet Tsunami. It turns out to be a very moving story, very sad and yet very positive.

After that there's a funny story involving virtual reality, Ayeka, and a Ryoka that is very, very nice to her. It drives Ayeka nuts.

The last story has Mihoshi losing her gun and a young kid finding it.

Volume 8

This volume is called Brain Drain.

Yume re-appears, this time with people wanting to see Washu. She ends up fighting Washu in a virtual-reality area. Sara is the name of the girl and she loses the match, but no hard feelings. She becomes a sort-of assistant to Washu, bu Yume is concerned that there is something she is hiding.

Sara reveals to Tsunami that she wants to merge with Washu and become a god. The being claiming to be Sara is not really here; she's a being of pure logic (uber-Vulcan, basically), and totally without any feelings. Ryoko and Tenchi arrive to help Washu, but fake-Sara makes evil duplicates of them, and the original Ryoko and Tenchi have to fight the duplicates.

They are able to defeat Sara.

The next story is about Mihoshi and a matchmaker she knows named Mr. Misu. He ends up analyzing the various women there to see which one is the best match for Tenchi.

The next story is about Sasami and a day of tragedy.

The rest of the volume is short cartoon strips dealing with Sasami.
