No Need for Tenchi, Volumes 3, 4

Volume 3

Ayeka and Ryoko are arguing about who is going to make Tenchi's meal. There's a car crash on the road and a wolf gets loose. Meanwhile, Ayeka and Ryoko are still arguing, even at the picnic.

Ryo-oh-ki goes off along and Sasami on her own encounters the wolf. The wolf is hurt and Sasami cleans its run and puts a split on its broken leg. Later Sasami is injured and unconscious while the others are worried since she hasn't gotten home.

A 'mighty hunter' shows up with his gun to kill the wolf. The wolf finds Tenchi and the others and they realize Sasami is in trouble. She's attacked by other wolves, but the first one comes to save her. The group then manages to make sure it's not killed.

Some girl shows up and claims Tenchi and she are old friends. It appears he had promised to marry her. Her name is Hiwa. Later she and Ryoko are in the hot springs. It turns out she has a very sad secret of her own.

There's a test of Ryoko and Ayeka that Washu and Hiwa are involved in. It does have a happy ending, though.

The next story is about Magical Girl Pretty Sammy. Sammy and Ramia are in line to become queen, and Ramia is basically evil. Misao is Sammy's friend at school. Ramia has an evil bird that works for her, and is able to cause Misao to turn evil at times, becoming Pixie Misa. Ryoko and Ayeka are still vying for Tenchi's affections.

Ramia is trying to force Sammy to reveal her secret identity but, again, things don't turn out exactly the way she planned.

Volume 4

In space a girl thinks her ship is under attack by Ryoko but it's Minagi. On Earth, the group is watching a TV show. Ryo-oh-ki gets upset about something and goes outside. More ships crashing. Near Jurai, there's someone evil plotting against someone.

The girl is Asahi and she's the target of the evil guy. She's also the one who mistook Minagi for Ryoko. She explains how her father was imprisoned (it has to do with trees becoming spaceships.) The group decides to help her out. They are also assigning people roles from their favorite television show.

One of the evil assistants lands at the shrine. He starts fighting Yosho. The guy loses and then leaves.

Mihoshi causes another disaster and most of the group has to change spaceships. They are captured by an evil ruler who is tied to the evil guy from earlier and some of them are put to work in a mine. The women other than Ryoko are put to work, sort of, as slaves to the evil ruler but they are way smarter than he is.

There's a battle scene later and the evil guy loses. One of the evil assistants attacks Tenchi and the others after they are back on board their ship, but the monk that joined them from the mine defeats the guy.
