Trigun

This is a really good series about human coloniazation of another planet. The stories revolve around a character known as Vash the Stampede, a person blamed for causing massive amounts of destruction wherever he goes. Actually, he doesn't do that on purpose, it sort of just happens.

Although he is an excellent shot he would really rather not use violence but often is forced to depend on his weapons. Along the way he is joined by two women from an insurance firm, a priest who carries a giant cross filled with guns, and a very large assortment of extremely strange looking villains.

The stories in the series are very well done and the characters very interesting so that you want to continue watching to find out what happens to them in the next episode. Vash is basically a person with a very good heart who likes to help people but who ends up with more than his share of troubles despite his attempts to help others.
