American patrols fly over Alaska.

A Japanese ship in the waters of the north.

Attu and Kiska are picked for invasion by the Japanese.

While the battle of Midway is going on, another group of Japanese ships moves against the Aleutians.

June, 1942, Attu occupied. Kiska is also occupied, both without opposition.

May, 1943, an assault force sets sail to attack Attu and retake it from the Japanese.

The attack begins.

The US troops land. 2300 Japanese die in the battle at Massacre Bay and the area nearby. 600 Americans die.

The US takes Attu, and the Japanese evacuate Kiska.
