References to the Poston Chronicle

These references are taken from the book The Japanese Concentration Camp at Poston, Arizona: City in the Sun, 1971.

Written comments in Japanese were not allowed in the paper.

It was written by Japanese for the Japanese, which, of course, helped it be accepted more easily.

The author feels that the paper was a good thing for the residents.

The paper didn't reflect what was going on.

The paper was censored.

During the main strike, the paper presented management's side only.

The paper noted that the Nisei being trained in Wisconsin didn't really have any major trouble with the white population. The Midwest proved to be much more favorable to the internees that some other parts of the country.

He again praises the paper.
