Dessert ni Hoshikuzu no Jelly o (Stardust Jelly for Desert)

This rather strangely titled cd was released in 1990 and contains the following tracks:

1. tsuki no Hotel (The Moon Hotel) (6:12): This is lush and beautiful. Some of the sounds represent stardust, while there is also a simple guitar(?) playing that is all the much stronger for its simplicity. Her voice is also really excellent on this song. In an way, the song has an innocent sound (don't ask me to explain why I use that word; the song just "feels" innocent). I consider this right up there with her Kimagure Orange Road songs.

2. Good Luck Factory (4:17): Upbeat, very nice song.

3. Convenience Boy (4:40): Another up-tempo song.

4. Baby Class no Grandmother (Grandmother of the Baby Class)(4:54): Continuing the trend of up-tempo songs, her voice seems to come across better with this one. It does have some rather odd sound effects, though, which are used a little too much.

5. kaze no oka (Hill of the Wind)(4:45): Right from the beginning I knew this was one of her better songs, reminding me of the KOR-type songs. Very, very pretty, good use of her voice and a musical background that is compliments her voice rather than overwhelming it.

6. Heart de furimuite (Please Turn Back in your Heart)(4:02): Another fairly good song."

7. namida no Puddle (Puddle of Tears)(4:51): A really cute song. Despite the title, it sounds like a positive, happy type of song.

8. omoi no kakera (A Broken Piece of My Feelings)(4:55): Very nice song; good beat, balanced music and singing, and her voice comes across very clearly.

9. '90 1/8 Jun no Tabi (Jun's Journey on 8th January 1990)(3:56): This is the type of song that I would like to see the singing kept exactly as it is and the entire musical arrangement thrown out the window. Her singing is really good, I like the beat, even the harmonica is ok, but the rest of the musical accompaniment struggles to rise to the level of annoying. This could have been such a really beautiful song, too.
