The instructor demonstrates how to make resonating sounds from the xylophone, and she even plays a version of Furusato, which really sounds pretty on the xylophone.

What gets incredibly annoying with this episode is that, in the background, they are playing Furusato. However, it's not being played at the same pace as that with Ogawa is playing, so you get totally discordant sounds. It detracts from what Ogawa is doing. Once they stop that it gets really good as the instructor makes backing sounds on a different xylophone while Ogawa plays the main melody on hers (and she does a very good job of it, too.)

The end up running through part of the song and it goes really well, with the teacher on background music and Ogawa playing the main tune.

The teacher shows her how to use three of the mallet-like things at the same time. Then a second teacher joins and plays a high-pitch device, while the first teacher plays the backup sounds and Ogawa the main tune. It's really neat the way it sounds.4-26-2006, ep. 272
They do the entire song through and it's really beautiful. If there was a CD of Morning Musume songs done by the trio I'd buy it in a minute.
