Labyrinth:Masquerade volume 1

A goblin is complaining and taking care of a part of the castle that contains props? Manikins. I'm not sure exactly what they are. Jareth orders him to fix the things there since he is going to hold

The party is a maquerade. Someone is dancing with a black woman who does not seem to know who she is. It's Sarah's party and the woman tries to reach her but can't.

A goblin pulls her into a kitchen. She still can't remember her name. Sarah breaks the bubble and the woman drops into the junkyard. She's with a goblin that was Jareth's valet. Same one as at start.

They find a place that's a shack and the goblin says it's where people end up who don't find what they were looking for. She has memories of being there before.

Junkyard woman tries to capture her. She finds her mother? Friend? and herself trapped in the past as 100 years have passed. The goblin's mother will help her. Anyhow, they are reunited although they supposedly can never leave the labyrinth but they might be able to after all.

This takes place during the film but involves a young black woman as the main character. There's also Jareth's goblin valet who is not overly pleased with the way he's been treated. The two end up working sort of together and it's revealed that she is not the only human in the labyrinth.

Sarah entered the kingdom and then was able to leave it. It seems a fairly good number of others are trapped there so where did their food come from? Where did they get common things like toilet paper and paper towels? What happens if one of them becomes really ill? This also makes Jareth a mass-kidnapper and possibly a murderer.

It's an interesting variation on the main theme of the labyrinth as long as you don't think about the many problems in logic the story produces.
