Monster High Ghouls Rule

I'll put a few scans here and my review of the movie.

The Monster High students watch a movie on how humans go after monsters on Halloween. Frankie doesn't think it's right but Deuce says nothing has happened for years (which, of course, is just begging for trouble to start and it does).

The high school gets egged and tp'd. The movie is dealing with the concept of trust and a history of bad relationships between the 'normies' and the monsters.

They find a map of the catacombs and Operetta agrees to help them find some hidden places and learn more about the history of Halloween. The monster version of Halloween differs from the actual origins, should we say. Anyhow, the normie teens are still pulling pranks on the monsters.

The monsters are told they should disguise themselves but Frankie says that would be wrong, that they should be proud of being monsters. This points to a theme running through all of Monster High stories and webisodes and that is people should be proud of themselves as they are, that they don't have to fit into some preconceived notions of what is/looks good and what doesn't. The theme also holds that everyone has something to contribute and that we should accept our differences.

This, of course, is the old Star Trek version of IDIC, Infinite Diversity in Infinite Dimensions, meaning that we should take pride in our differences and in ourselves, and that the sum of our differences makes us all together something much more than we would be as pure individuals and acting as pure individuals.

There are other things going on at the same time. Draculaura is trying to set Clawdeen up with a date. Cleo's father is giving her a hard time. A 'normie' named Clare reminds me of Claudia from Warehouse 13. There's an incredibly hilarious Halloween party 'normies' are holding that he monsters attend.

In the end both sides, of course, settle their differences and basically accept an IDIC approach to their differences. It's a fun movie but with a very powerful message.
