Dead Girls Are Easy

Nicki has a near-death experience. She's 28. When she wakes up there's an old woman in the room with her, a visitor of sorts. She's a ghost. She wants Nicki to do a favor for her.

She goes to the woman's funeral (with her ghost) and does what she was asked to do. Meanwhile, her doctor from the hospital is coming on to her. She also has a gay friend named Evan

Later she meets another ghost, but this time it's someone she knows. She also finds out her would-be boyfriend doctor is already married. the guy she's supposed to help get out of jail doesn't want to go, and it seems she may now be dealing with an evil spirit.

Joe, the doctor, tells Nicki she may have a twin sister (Nicki herself is adopted and has no idea who her real parents were), and that that could be the very person he had married and now wants to divorce (she ran off with someone else.)

In order to fix things, Nicki has to get Mojo out of jail so a Voodoo god can take his soul and release Caprice's soul to heaven

Later she and Joe go dancing, and Nicki sees yet another ghost. The woman had an abortion and killed herself over her so-called boyfriend making out with her sister. Later she meets another ghost, this time in her shop.

Things get quite dicey when she and Joe have to dig up Caprice's grave, wrap her body in chains, and deal with Felicia, the woman who really murdered Caprice, and someone who is apparently a voodoo god.

This is an excellent book, well-written, interesting, and a little unusual. Definitely worth reading.
