Dead Over Heels
This is another collection of short stories by the woman who has written the excellent Undead and ... series of books. A Honeymoon Story The first one is about Betsy and Sinclair taking a trip to New York shortly after their marriage. Nick and Jessica are also there. Nick still hates Betsy, and Jessica wants to try to do something about that. Things don't go well, and Nick is incredibly nasty towards Betsy and Sinclair. It gets bad enough that Betsy slaps Nick, hard. He investigates a murder by a vampire, suspecting it has something to do with Betsy and Sinclair. They catch the vampire killed the kids, and find she has a helper. Survivors This one is based on the Fred the Mermaid books. Conwin is a TV man with his own show. He manages to get separated from the others in a storm and ends up in a make-shift boat with no food. He encounters a mermaid. She manages to save his life. He ends up having sex with her (a lot.) He gets rescued but misses Ree, the mermaid, terribly, and has special things run on her show to ask people to help find her. There's a really nice ending to this enjoyable story. Speed Dating, Werewolf Style Cain, a female werewolf, wants to get married and have children. Her friend Saul tries to help her find a suitable mate, but all the ones she meets turn out to be major losers. You know it's coming from really early on, but Saul is the one who loves her, and the path they follow until they finally acknowledge each other is the strength of the story. These three stories make for a really good addition to her books. |
