Grave Sight

This is another really good book from Charlaine Harris. The main characters are Harper and her step-brother Tolliver. Both came from very abusive households, and both managed to survive. Harper, though, was hit by lightning one day.

From then on, she could locate bodies and was able to tell what had killed the person. She could not see who had killed them, if it was murder, but still she was able to bring closure to various people who had been searching for lost relatives. Unfortunately, Harper has some physical problems due to the lightning, one of her legs tending to be weaker than the other, headaches that appear during storms, and a major fear of being hit again.

Not everyone appreciates her abilities, though, and in this book she is called to a town to try and find someone who had died. She does what she's supposed to, but suddenly it seems that there is a major conspiracy to keep her and Tolliver from leaving town, and there are also times Harper is assaulted and even shot at.

The book is a mystery. Who is behind all of these things that are going on and trying to keep everything covered up? Were certain people murdered, or did they die of natural causes? Who is the father of certain children? Who has paid someone to beat her up?

It's a really good book, and different from her others.
