This is a romance novel with a touch of the paranormal in it. The main people involved are Sebastion Cemerford (Lord Byefield), around thirty, (a bachelor) and Amelia Merryweather, a woman in her twenties (unmarried). The third main character is a cat.

Lord Byefield keeps complaining about a noise from next door that keeps him awake at night, and Amelia is complaining about the same thing. The problem is their bedrooms are opposite each other, and each claims they have done nothing at all that would make any kind of noise.

The rest of the book is the two of them trying to figure out what is causing the noise and finding out a sort of curse was placed on the house, and just maybe the cat is involved somehow in bringing them together. Either way, it's a really cute story.
