Saucy Movie Tales, March 1936 (reprint)

This is a pulp reprint from Girasol Collectibles. The cover is quite interesting. The stories inside are basically short mystery stories.

Star of Satan: A director of occult movies and another man are trying to find out what has happened to two missing girls. One girl had died recently and they're worried about the other two. They encounter a nude woman on the road. One guy is captured and ends up at a place where Satan-worshippers, of a sort, are planning to kill another woman. There are three nude illustrations in this story (defining nude as either showing the woman's full body or at least exposing both of her breasts, generally with her wearing panties but little if anything else.

Some interesting terms he uses describing women: 'soft white flesh;' 'pink-tipped breasts heaving' and 'roseate nipples of her breasts.' The language is meant to titillate, but there is no actual sexual act going on in any of the stories.

Right of the Master: A newly-married couple is out in the boondocks for their honeymoon. There is a 'master' of the hall of the area and he has the idea that any woman belongs to him, basically. There are two nude illustrations, and terms include 'delicious creamy thighs;' and 'lifted her palpitating breasts to offer them more freely.'

A Slim, Gold Pencil: A woman is found nude and dead, supposedly from gas. An insurance investigator is looking into her deaths. There is one nude illustration; terms include 'firm, well-round globes of her breasts' and 'the full erectness of her breasts indicated a highly sexed nature.'

Strip Girl: An actress is having trouble doing a proper strip, and she ends up dead. 3 nude illustrations.

Marcia of the Movies: A comic strip with one woman who is a good part of the time.

Crime in the Abbatoir: An abbatoir is apparently a slaughter-house. A film is going to be done at one of the places. There's only one nude illustration, bu the author slips in as many phrases as he can like 'full, pulsating breasts;' 'virginal breasts;' 'heavy with flesh and short on brains' and 'full, quivering breasts.'

Tropical Take: This is a story which really puts down natives of tropical islands. Moya is 16 and has 'high-jutting breasts.' A movie crew is there, but it's not the safest place since the natives apparently practice cannibalism, referring to a human as a 'long pig.' Moya is a rather wild girl and is more than willing to have sex yet also eat human flesh.

Monster of the Tarn: A sort of mutated hippo that looks more like a dinosaur that lives in a lake and has eaten a woman. There are two nude illustrations, but the main emphasis is actually on the story itself.

Terror Voyage: Two nudes, and the 'pointed, firm breasts quivered between my soothing hands' phrase. It's actually a fairly decent story.

Back from the Dead: A rather good story where all is not what it seems to be. Two nude illustrations.
