Slow Decay

There's some very odd things going on, as is usual in a Torchwood story. A weevil is found that has been partly eaten away, and the group is having a hard time figuring out just what could do that. A secondary theme is the use of an alien device by some young people that results in a fight at a club and the death of the entire group of kids.

A third thing is the relationship between Rys and Gwen. The spark seems to have gone out, and Rys decides that losing weight, via using some kind of miracle pill, will be just the thing he needs.

As things go on, the group is able to find out who was the one who attacked and partly ate the weevil, and it's quite unexpected. Even less expected is the relationship between that and the pill that Rys has taken, and it becomes a question of whether or not Rys can be saved in time.

A very dark, but very good, Torchwood novel.
