Ghosts of Cincinnati

This book is perhaps the first book that I've read dealing with ghosts which has bothered to start off the book with an excellent examination of just what constitutes a ghost. It notes that a ghost is an electromagnetic version of a person. It takes about the types of manifestations, poltergeists, never-human ghosts, orbs, shadow people, Tulpas, breakthroughs in time/space and inanimate objects.

Then it goes into just why ghosts seem to haunt places and/or people. It brings up the HAS, the Haunting Activity Scale, going over how frequent the haunting takes place, the intensity of the haunting and the type of haunting (poltergeist/non-human/intelligent/etc.)

After this well-done opening it goes over specific places said to be haunted. The Cincinnati Art Museum, the Delta Queen, the never-completed subway, the Netherland Hilton Hotel, Union Terminal, Spring-Grove cemetery, the Taft Museum, Eden Park and other places are covered. The book even has a bibliography, articles and web sites.

All told this is probably the best single book I've read on the subject of hauntings in general and one of the best on hauntings in Cincinnati.
