The author notes the importance of the number of witnesses to a cryptid, if there is any actual physical evidence of the cryptid and if there are any photos/movies they should be of acceptable quality and not fuzzy.

The authors talk about how some cryptids have an effect on electrical equipment, how some batteries just stop working and the possibility that some of the cryptids may not come from our exact universe but one that is similar but still not exactly the same.

This brings up the multiverse which could explain sudden appearances and disappearances of cryptids and how the two universes could possibly overlap in some places like Skinwalker Ranch which could explain why so many things happen there.

They also point out that our motivations as humans may not be the same as the motivations cryptids have. They point out how some cryptids seem to be immune to weapons that are fired at them.

One particularly important example they give which shows at least some iterations are not hostile is where a someone sees a Bigfoot but doesn't freak out. That person leaves some food out for the Bigfoot and the next day there sticks/branches there for the person to use in their cabin.

The authors say that the paranormal is a byproduct of the metaverse reality.

They also talk about specific cryptids such as Bigfoot, Mothman, the M.I.B.s, Dogman, Champ, Shadow People and skinwalkers among others.

The book is a very good one in that it examples the concept of cryptids and goes into why we see them, why strange things seem to happen when we see them and why the whole thing may be very, very complicated and beyond the ability of our science to understand it fully, at least for now.
