The Weird West Coast: Monsters, Mysteries, and Madmen on the Pacific Rim

This book includes a variety of things including strange creatures, mysteries and crime. It talks about cryptozoology and cryptids, strange creatures that don't fit into regular zoology such as Bigfoot. It also mentions the Cactus Cat, ghosts, the dark watchdog and shadow people.

It discusses the possibility that the Chinese were here before Columbus although there are no actual artifacts or ancient Chinese writings that indicate they actually got to the West Coast.

It discusses underground tunnels in Portland and Tacoma which were used for kidnapping men to force them to serve on ships, kidnapping women to force them to become prostitutes, moving booze and a variety of other illegal things.

The book includes online resources and a bibliography.

The book's most interesting part is the section on the underground tunnels. Talking about the Chinese being here is sort of interesting but since there is no actual hard evidence for their presence that part could have been left out of the book. It could also have gone into some detail about the shadow people.
