Encounters Bigfoot volume 6
First, the breakdown. The howling/grunting/screaming trait is the most noticeable in the stories with that happening in ten of them. Staring at each other is n ext with five accounts and this is followed by the knocking sounds against trees which is noted four times. (This is probably a form of communication between the Bigfoot.)
Now, for specific things. In one case a Bigfoot steals a flashlight. Practical if nothing else. For once it's noted that the color of its fur helps it blend with with the forest.
Then the problems start. IN one story a boy and a dog are together, encounter a Bigfoot and the boy runs home. BUT. There's no mention of the dog going home with the boy. I think that's odd leaving that part of the story out. It also causes me to wonder if this story is true.
Then there's one where 'a bone chilling gust of wind swept through the cabin, distinguishing my flashlight.' WHAT? How can a gust of wind extinguish a a flashlight? To me this is a fairly major blunder and also causes me to wonder if this story is made up.
Then there's one with another odd mistake. A guys in the bed of his truck with a woman to look at the stars. This is followed by 'I wondered what I could do to win over this man of my dreams.' Again, WHAT? Uh, the other person in the truck is a woman, not a man. A simple writing error or another made-up story?
Another one talks about tapping on the windows when, in fact, there was no tapping that happened in the story. Then there's one where a person is walking down a trail and the reference is 'no way to turn around.' Um, if you are walking down a trail there is always a way to turn around (unless there's been a major earthquake and part of the trail has fallen into a cavern.)
Then there's a story about a college student out hunting Bigfoot but no mention is made of his apparently cutting classes to take the time for his hunting expedition.
Then someone ends up on another planet with an orange star, a purple sky and Reptilians that chase him and leave a mark on his face. Then there's a story about a Bigfoot that leaves a burn mark on a person's wrist.
In all the cases I've read about Bigfoot I have never read of one doing anything like that at all. They might be into physical violence but burning is not in their bag of tricks.
All this causes me to have major doubts about this one volume. Either there were people telling their stories and messing things up or some of the stories are fake.
I'm also surprised that the book's author didn't catch these problems and correct them. I haven't seen this many problems in any of the other books in the series.
