The Farnsworth House Haunting: On the Gettysburg Ghost Trail
Many ghosts seem to be found in places where there had been violence and suffering. That can be in a single home with one or more people were murdered on through battlefields where thousands of people were killed.
Gettysburg fits that. Not only did you have many soldiers killed but those who were wounded were subjected to a level of medicine which was primitive at best.
So it's not surprising to find ghosts there. In this case it's a building in the town itself. (If you don't know not all of the fighting was done on the field. The town itself saw fighting and death when the Confederates pushed the Union troops out.)
Also, despite all the cannon fire and rifle fire only one civilian was killed and that was Jenny Wade who was killed by a bullet in her own home.
The book goes into the history of the house and then an explanation of a group that is going to investigate the house, their premise being look for a normal explanation of what seems to be paranormal events.
Some of the things they found included a shadow figure, a face, whispering, footsteps and various noises. They discuss a strange mirror they found in the basement along with dust orbs and a cold feeling which turned out to be from a vent.
Other paranormal things are discussed and the book ends with a really good short story.
Pretty well done book and I liked the story at the end.
