Fear in the Forest, volume 1

This series of books is about strange things, sometimes dangerous things, that people have run into while hiking through a forest or camping in one. They do help one to figure out just how some cryptids behave and the more stories of the same type of cryptid and behavior makes it possible to get an idea of just what these people are running into.

The first story involves a Sasquatch involves a simple tossing of objects at between the person and the Sasquatch. This fits a strong pattern for the Sasquatch and Bigfoot cryptids in tossing objects that are lying around at a person.

The second story involves what may be a Reptilian alien with some kind of cloaking device. There's a story about a cabin that may have a portal to hell (probably some other dimension) in it. A story shows a very common thing and that is the feeling of being watched. This theme runs through many events in various books, not just these.

A story involves shadow beings which is another common cryptid although the story involves an offering of tobacco and alcohol which seems to have an effect.

One story seems to involve a skinwalker, very thin, about ten feet high. There's a story about a very unusual cryptids with long talons, pointed ears, tall and with odd eyes which roughly f its the description of a mothman.

Then there's a story involving a typical terrible smell and something, maybe a Bigfoot, which is eight feet tall. This is also a very rare case where the viewer is armed but the effect is minimal. Another Bigfoot story involves the knocking sound that is made when the cryptid hits a tree, probably with a large branch.

That's another thing that occurs in many of the stories involving a Bigfoot. Bad smell, knocking sounds, sometimes grunting or screaming. Another possible Bigfoot story involves the creature being in a tree which again seems a common theme.

One story involves telepathy with something.

As usual in this type of book the stories are all interesting.
