Main points of Full Transcript of Subcommittee Hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena

I'm going to point out what I think the major things were in the hearing and for some of them add my own comments.

The committee notes the lack of transparency regarding UAPs (UFOs) and that this results in 'speculation and debate for decades.' This results in eroding public trust '...in the very institutions that are meant to serve and protect them.'

(This has been going on for quite a while and is not just because of UFO/UAP sightings. Trust in our government has been decreasing for a good while. We can go back, for example, to Nixon resigining, the killing of Kent State students, the assassination of JFK and so on.)

Both Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter saw UFOs.
