Wendigo Fever

This is an unusual type of cryptid since it is cannibalistic in nature. It is thin and has antlers which fits the description in the books about cryptid sightings that have this creature in it.

The article also notes something called Wendigo Psychosis. If you look it up on Wikipedia it's actually a real mental illness.

The Wendigo is relatively limited in area, apparently. That it can cause a person to develop a craving for human flesh is also very unusual and is not a trait found in any other cryptids that I have read about.

The problem is, of course, that there has been no actual scientific study of the creature (as far as I know) and there have been no bodies of the creatures found for examination.

The reason for that seems to be the same reason that there are no bodies of Bigfoot found. Many cryptids live in a forest area and when a forest creature dies, no matter whether it's a normal animal or a cryptid, then the body is going to become food for scavengers and the remains will decay so finding a body would take an incredible series of coincidences that have just not occurred yet.
