The Fairfield Haunting: On the Gettysburg Ghost Trail

This is a book about the aftermath of the Battle of Gettysburg. The author has visited the site and seen ghosts. He talks about a paranormal group, EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomona), the Ovilus and the Kinect camera. He discusses the group's investigation of the Fairfield Inn which had been used as a hospital after the battle.

He also includes a lot of information about the battle itself. He discusses the very primitive nature of surgery back then.

He notes that some 90% or so of an investigation yields little. The other 10% is what makes up the various television programs about investigations, making it seem that there is much more going on then really happens.

There was one very fascinating event. The people in the team yelled really loud and the EVP device picked up the words 'Did you hear that, Captain?'

Now EVPs, to me at least, are very hard to make out exactly what is being said and different people can listen to the same thing and still report different things being said. If this particular EVP actually said what it seems to have said then it seems that somehow a group of people yelling in the present was able to make a noise that could be heard in the past.
