UFO Encounters: How High Strange Events Transform Human Perception

This book is written by someone with a lot of experience and gives the reader a good look into how a UFO investigation can be carried out. The book covers topics such as the M.I.B., strange phone calls, helicopter flyovers, memory loss, tracking devices and a variety of other topics. The strength of the book is in its examination of how UFO and other encounters with the strange can have an effect on the psychology of the person experiencing them.

That the people noted did see something very unusual to them is unquestionable. Whether what they saw was actual alien craft is something that can't be proven. I've studied the phenomena for over fifty years and the 'proof' is no stronger today then it was when I started.

This can be accounted for by a three possibilities. One: there are no UFOs, no alien beings, no Bigfoot, no other strange entities. The sightings can be explained by something unusual cause a person to think they are seeing something strange but it's just something interfering with their observation and though processes, such as some kind of EMP event that would have a perfectly good scientific explanation.

Secondly, for some reason the people are seeing into some other kind of reality, perhaps a parallel Earth or another dimension or something like that.

The third possibility is that what the people are seeing and experiencing is real but the government is downplaying the events and covering them up. The reason for that would be fear of panic if people knew such entities were real. It could upset various religious groups if the aliens did not worship whatever that group worshiped. It would also cause problems with greedy people and corporations wanting to know the 'secrets' of the aliens so that they could make lots of money off them.

There is also one questions I have about the UFO sightings. If the UFOs are alien craft then why do they have lights shining off of them? Wouldn't the main thing they want to do is be in some kind of stealth mode to avoid being seen and/or contact with humans? Yet so many sightings report that there are lights on the craft, often on the bottom, and these are easily seen. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyhow, I think the book is interesting and presents a whole new areas of exploration for those interested in high-strange events.
