Catty Heritage

Review

This one chapter alone shows that this has the potential to be a really, really good story. I like the premise of the "demon cat" influence, and I like Ranma-chan being a catgirl. I also like the type of personality she seems to possess and I think there are lots and lots of things to explore in future parts of the story if the author continues to write more parts.

Synopsis

In a sort of "alternate universe" situation involving Genma, Ranma and the pit of cats, Genma unknowingly uses a cat that had some cat-demon heritage in it. Ranma ends up receiving some of the true neko-ken from the demon cat.

The major effect this has involves Ranma's falling into the "cursed" pool. Instead of emerging as a human girl, as Ranma-chan did in the series, she emerges as a cat-girl, and a cat-girl with a much playful personality.

Genma, in the meantime, has run away, thinking that Ranma-chan will be out of control and violent due to the neko-ken. The Jusenkyo guide realizes that Ranma-chan is stuck in female form when he tries to use hot water on her and it doesn't cause her to revert to male-Ranma form.

Ranma-chan realizes that she has a mission of her own, and that is finding her mother.
