Half a Kiss

Review

It's a story about a time when Kentaro had left Ranma after Ranma had found a way to re-activate his curse and turn into a man when he wants to. A lot is covered about the concepts of choice and expectation, about the value of love no matter who, and about the concept of family honor.

The story fits very well into the Kentaro/Ranma-chan series.

Synopsis

Apparently Kentaro has left and Nodoka is arranging a wedding for a now-male Ranma and Akane. Someone must have found the kettle that allowed Ranma to return to being a male.

Meanwhile Nabiki is arguing with Akane, pointing out to Akane that she is totally self-centered, and doesn't see that Ranma is having a hard time letting go mentally of Kentaro.

Akane then takes Ranma out shopping for clothes. They talk about his having been in love with Kentaro. Later Akane wants to have sex with Ranma but he says he needs more time to think things through.

Nabiki talks with Akane and says she thinks Kentaro left Ranma because he had overheard them talking about the kettle curing Ranma and thought the water would make Ranma become a man forever.

Akane then realizes she and Ranma will never marry. The Tendos adopt Ranma, and Ranma's parents agree to let them do that. Ranma will teach classes at the dojo. Nodoka is still furiously set against Ranma having a relationship with Kentaro, but Genma says Ranma's path should be his or hers to choose.

Akane talks to Ranma about his idea of his being a woman nearly full time would make him a weaker person, and she sets him straight on that. She helps him realize he's still in love with Kentaro and is willing to become female full time because of that.

The scene shifts to Ranma-chan with Kentaro. They have slept together, and now both have to return to where they live. They are working things out. When Ranma-chan returns to the dojo, though, Nodoka again gets on her case about being in love with a man. Ranma-chan lets her know she is not going to turn that love away.

Later Nodoka and Akane have a talk about Ranma and change and family honor.
