Lesbian 1/2

Review

Some people might be put off by the title, thinking that the story is just another x-rated fanfic. Granted, there is a lot of sex in the story, but it's well done, often humorous, and the story has lots of other good things in its favor.

The title might also lead some to think that "this is another story in which all the Tendou girls are lesbians." Akane, in this story, is a lesbian. Nabiki and Kasumi, though, are shown to be bisexual in their orientation and that's somethings that rarely appears in a fanfic. In most stories the people either like someone of their own gender, or someone of the opposite gender, period.

In the "real" world, there are heterosexuals (liking only members of the opposite sex); gays (liking only men); lesbians (liking only women) and there are actually bisexuals. For some reason it's a term that people just don't like to use. A lot of people who don't like the term go along the line of "well, you should just make up your mind; which one do you like?" Even gays and lesbians sometimes ask this of bisexual people.

Bisexuals like to have sex with members of either sex. They might have a preference for one sex or the other, but they have no problem with having sex with someone of their own gender. In this story, both Nabiki and Kasumi appear to be bisexual. Kasumi is still interested in Dr. Tofu, and Nabiki is still interested in boys, but both are willing to try a relationship with someone of their own gender.

Ranma-chan is a lesbian in the story; Kodachi appears to be bisexual; Moose heterosexual before being "changed" and probably afterwards, too. Basically, there's examples of all three approaches in the story, making it a little more realistic than most lemon/lime stories.

The story's best point, at least in my opinion, is the way it shows the differences between how males and females treat other people and react to them and specifically how the fact that Ranma-kun is transgendered and always wanted to be a girl affects her relationships with others.

What we see is that, by being female, Ranma-chan possesses none of the macho arrogance of Ranma-kun. This Ranma-chan is understanding, sweet, naive at times, and always willing to listen and help others. Basically, she has a very strong nuturing "instinct."

What's important about this is the way that fact ends up affecting other people, and that is done in an excellent manner. Some of the "minor" characters are given a depth they didn't possess even in the series itself. We find, for example, that Kodachi is really an intensely lonely person, and Ranma-chan's treatment of her causes a change in her personality, changing her from a rather psychotic off-the-wall character to a girl who is still somewhat unusual, but is now much more "normal" in her behavior, all due to the fact that Ranma-chan was willing to be her friend.

Azusa also has an improvement in character due to her relationship with Ranma-chan. Shampoo's character comes off better, too.

We also find that Ranma-chan herself is happy and makes lots of friends at school, something Ranma-kun never managed to do.

The story thus shows the differences in how men and women react to the world around them and treat others, and males don't come across very well in the story.

And yes, there is a lot of sex in the story. It's not crudely or vulgarly done, though, and at times it's told in an absolutely hilarious fashion.

I would consider this one of the best of the Ranma fanfiction pieces I have read. I only wish there were more parts.

Synopsis

Chapter 1

The story opens with scenes of the very young Ranma being with Genma on their training mission and shows that this young Ranma wanted to be a girl and wants to go home to Nodoka.

The next scene is the one in the Amazon village but this time Ranma-chan moves and Shampoo ends up giving her the kiss of marriage, followed quickly by Genma's grabbing Ranma and running away.

The opening scene at the Dojo is condensed with Ranma-chan obviously interested in Akane and Nabiki as girls. Kasumi is also interested in her.

The opening furo (bath) scene is altered with Ranma-chan accidentally falling into hot water and changing while all three sisters are in the bathroom.

Ranma (male form) explains that he is comfortable only when he is in his girl form of Ranma-chan and, in that form, she is attracted only to girls.

Ranma-chan ends up being engaged to all three girls although the two fathers think it is the male form that has the engagements.

The traditional section with Akane getting to school and fighting the boys and Kuno is still here, but this time Ranma-chan does not interfere. She definitely doesn't like boys, too.

It is quite interesting that in almost every fanfic in which Ranma-kun becomes female there is an astounding difference in the way she thinks in girl form. Ranma-chan is almost always more open with her feelings; more innocent (in a way); more willing to talk things out and listen to others; happier (definitely) and relaxed in a way Ranma-kun virtually never is. She also lacks the arrogance that Ranma-kun shows. She is much more open to actually being friends with someone and enjoys having that friendship. In essence, Ranma-chan is much, much more together than Ranma-kun. She also displays at times a very vulnerable part of her psyche, something which Ranma-kun never does. Her vulnerability can cause others to want to protect her.

Ranma-chan and Akane also hold hands going into the school (since Ranma-chan had admitted to a newly-awakened Kuno that she was Akane's fiancee.)

At the end of the school day Ranma-chan takes a shower, making sure the other girls are gone in case she accidentally got splashed with hot water. Nabiki joins her in the shower and moments later Akane.

The sisters decide that Ranma-chan will sleep with them at night, three times a week with Kasumi, two with Akane and two with Nabiki, this being done since Genma turns Ranma-chan male every night by splashing him with hot water.

(There's a funny part where the girls are dreaming and it seems that they are Akane appears to be a closet dominatrix, Nabiki wants slave girls and Kasumi has a dream of being spanked).

Chapter 2

Ranma-chan is making lots of friends at the school and she really likes that. Ryouga arrives. Ranma-chan glomps on to him and he doesn't recognize her. She identifies herself and then Ryouga starts chasing Genma, thinking that he was responsible for making Ranma-kun crazy.

There is a variation from the canon here in that, instead of Ranma-kun and Ryouga fighting over the bread at the cafeteria, Ranma-kun (being male physically but female mentally), offered to share the bread with him. Instead of becoming sort-of-enemies as in the series, in this story Ranma and Ryouga become fast friends.

In another change from the series it's Ranma-chan that doesn't know that Ryouga turns into P-chan and Akane does know. (This is really, really a cute part of the story.) Also, Ryouga, rather than Kuno as in other fanfiction stories, becomes the one who wants to save Ranma-kun from the girls efforts to change him into her.

Chapter 3

Ranma meets Kodachi when she's being threatened by three masked men.

It turns out, though, that the "men" are three girls from Ranma-chan's school.

Akane is going to be the one to fight Kodachi in their gymnastics competition and Ryouga trains her. Kodachi attacks but leaves only to be stopped by Ranma-chan. They end up both semi-paralyzed due to one of Kodachi's powders.

Again, a major character has a change in behavior due to the way she is treated (nicely) by Ranma-chan. Kodachi's behavior becomes totally different when she finds herself being treated in a decent manner. She comes to the Tendou's and stays for breakfast. Kasumi especially is polite to her. Kodachi was expecting the worst and is having a somewhat hard time adjusting to the fact that people might actually like her.

(There was also a reference made to how lonely she was at the Kuno mansion.)

When they are all out shopping Ranma-chan gets splashed a couple of times with hot water. Kodachi sees a Ranma-kun and when she talks to Ranma-chan she says that Ran is friend of hers, so Kodachi ends up deciding to try and pair them off.

Chapter 4

Kodachi ends up training both Akane and Ranma-chan in martial arts gymnastics in which Akane proves to be quite good with the whip.

There is a hilarious section in which Akane accidentally tags Ranma-chan with the whip on her rear end. Akane and Kodachi vie with each other to put ointment on the area while Kasumi decides to break her engagement with Ranma but backs down when Ranma-chan takes her to her own room and puts her to bed, thinking Kasumi is ill.

Akane, Ranma-chan and Kodachi all leave to go ice skating with other girls. (References is made to how Kodachi is not really liked very much even at her own school and is basically friendless there.)

Ranma-chan and the others encounter Azusa and Mikado at the ice rink. Then there is an almost rolling-on-the-floor moment when Mikado takes P-chan from Azusa and gives it back to Ranma-chan and then tries to kiss her. Ranma-chan runs off and Kodachi removes her outer clothing to reveal her leotard beneath and says "Stealing the kiss of innocent young ladies is unforgivable. In the name of the rose, I will punish you."

Ranma-kun comes out absolutely furious at Mikado. Ryouga is also there and warns the others to leave the rink as Ranma is an angry as he as ever seen him.

Akane and Ranma have the ice skating match with Azusa and Mikado, but this time Ranma-chan and Azusa have a short kiss and Mikado lets go of all three of them. Ranma-chan tells Azusa later that she can visit P-chan any time she wants, and the goes along with that, thus improving her behavior tremendously over her behavior in the series.

However, the mood is somewhat broken up when Shampoo appears.

Chapter 5

Shampoo fights the others and smashes the ice open, causing Akane to nearly drown. She and Ranma-chan save her.

Shampoo keeps referring to Ranma-chan as her wife. Nabiki looks over the law book that Shampoo brought and reveals that Ranma-chan, having won the fight at the Amazon village, is the dominant partner in her marriage to Shampoo and that, as the dominate power, can have as many wives as she wants.

We also find out that Nabiki likes the fun and excitement of being with Ranma-chan but isn't really seriously considering marrying her.

Nabiki tricks Ranma-chan into allowing her to sleep in her room. There is another really funny scene when Shampoo arrives and plans to have sex with Ranma-chan but encounters Nabiki instead. Since the room is dark, though, they both think each other is Ranma-chan and start to play around.

Another funny scene follows at the school where Shampoo finally gets really angry with Akane and tries to give her the Kiss of Death but gives her the Kiss of Marriage accidentally.

Chapter 6

Shampoo works on teaching Akane how to cook and has some success.

There is still another tremendously funny scene where Nabiki and Shampoo each are eating a pastry in as sexy a manner as they possible can causing Ranma-chan to finally faint.

It's decided that Shampoo will marry Ranma-chan in a marriage recognized by the Amazons but not actually legal otherwise. They will have a ceremonial battle which will involve mud wrestling in bras and panties and hitting people with pillows.

Moose attacks and Ranma-chan barely defeats him and will have to face him the next day. Cologne helps train Ranma-chan to stop fighting like a boy and use her advantage in speed as a girl.

Ranma and Genma take off for a training trip after Ranma-chan defeats Moose again. Moose goes back to China, and ends up falling into the Spring of Drowned Dominatrix.

Chapter 7

Ranma-chan returns and the wedding is scheduled for the next day.

Azusa arrives and is going to join the ceremony the next day.

The day arrives and the ceremony starts. Ranma-chan as the dominant figure in the marriage is to bathe Shampoo, and Shampoo bathe Akane. The bathing isn't in water, though; it's in mud. After that all the girls present (all of whom are naked) attack Ranma-chan and it becomes a giant mud free-for-all.

Moose arrives and attacks Ranma-chan.

Chapter 8

Kodachi finds out Ranma-chan was a boy by birth but Ranma-chan apologies to her. Moose has challenged Ranma-chan to a duel.

Shampoo reveals that she really wanted to have sex with both Akane and Ranma-chan.

To make things even wilder, Happosai arrives (and manages to take Akane's bra off).

Happosai offers to train Ranma-chan (although the training does involve stealing girl's underwear from the girls).

Moose shows up and the fight begins.

Chapter 9

Shampoo is teaching Akane Chinese, and Akane is teaching Shampoo Japanese.

Moose (in girl form) is working at the Cat Café after having lost the fight to Ranma-chan.

Ukyou shows up but she is so manly in her mannerisms that this upsets Ranma-chan.

Shampoo and Akane have a talk.
