Ranma ½, part 10 number 7

Part 13:Ranma meets his mother: Akane has a dream about her mother and wakes up crying. The family makes a trip to the mother's grave. Akane asks Ranma what he remembers about his mother but Ranma doesn't even know if he has a mother.

Later Ranma's walking on a fence and falls into a canal, changing into Ranma-chan. A woman sees her and tries to help her up but falls in herself. She then leaves. When Ranma gets home Genma rushes him to take off on a training trip. Ranma finds a letter from Nodoka and Genma finally admits it's from Ranma's mother.

Nodoka gets there, but before they can meet her Genma grabs Ranma and causes them both to fall in the pool. He tells Ranma he can never meet his mother in his male form.

Part 14: A Man's Vow: Nodoka asks where Genma and Ranma are and Soun lies to her, saying there are elsewhere. Nodoka tells the others that Genma took Ranma away when he was a very young child, claiming he wanted to train him. Genma had promised to raise Ranma to be a man among men, and if he didn't father and son would both commit seppuku, taking their own lives.

Nodoka says she will hold them to the vow. Ranma-chan tells Nodoka her name is Ranko and she's Akane's first cousin.
