Ranma ½ Part 9 number 1

Ranma-chan looks really good on the cover of this issue. The watermelon she's sitting on reminds me of the watermelon table from Animal Crossing.

The story starts on the beach when Ranma finds Kuno with a watermelon on his head. They take him home and he seems to be suffering from some kind of amnesia. He's also suffering some kind of delusion as he has all sorts of false memories about him and Ranma-chan.

Later Nabiki tricks Kuno out of 5000 yen. Later a whole bunch of watermelons on a cart are spilled onto Kuno, but he manages to slice them into perfect pieces before they can do him any damage. He also slices up Ranma's shirt which causes problems when Ranma gets splashed with cold water and changes into Ranma-chan. She's holding the remains of the shirt over her breasts, showing a somewhat unusual display of modesty for her.

It turns out Kuno was training to get Ranma-chan to go out on a date with him, and the two end up alone on Watermelon Island.
