An Akane to Remember

This is not a tape of funny episodes. Rather it is a fairly serious two-part story about Akane returning to an area where she had once been scared when very young but had been rescued by a young boy. She returns and finds the now-grown man and his father.

The forest is one filled with giant animals, their size due to the effects of water from particular springs. Unfortunately those springs are disappearing, and the young man will die unless he has frequent access to the water.

Ranma and Ryoga both arrive, Ranma having come in search of Akane and Ryoga by his usual lost way. The situation becomes even more complicated when a monster wakes, a monster who has an appetite for young girls like Akane.

This episode gives us a little deeper glance into Ranma and Akane's relationship but somehow I think that Akane might have been better off staying with Shinnosuke, her rescuer.
