Review

This is a very dark Ranma-chan fanfic, but it's still a very good one.

In this case, there will be a body count of major characters higher than almost any other fanfic piece, yet the deaths do make sense within the context of the story. The basic premise is that something happens that causes Ranma-chan to become pregnant by Soun, and this sets off years of suffering on Ranma-chan's part.

After the death of Soun Ranma-chan sets out basically to find herself and purge herself of the pain from the past, but in doing so a character in her midst who is dangerous insane and more than capable of killing.

Some of the events are a little strained as to believability, but most of Ranma-chan's life cnosists of wild, strange events, so a few more are acceptable.

The characters are generally well done. A few of them have matured considerably (Ranma-chan is now 27-years-old by the end of the story). Some of them have not improved at all, though. There are old enemies from the past, some who wish to remain enemies, some who don't. There's a heck of a lot that goes on in the story.

Synopsis

Prologue

The story opens with an injured Ranma waking up to find Akane, Nabiki and Kasumi all in the same room, but armed with improvised weapons. Genma is draped over the pond, beat up quite bad. Soun gets up from the couch and it's obvious he was also beaten up.The sisters seem to be angry at Ranma-chan, but she has no idea what happened nor why they should seem to be both scared and angry at her.

Chapter 1

The chapter opens with Ranma-chan having had a child, and she's also running a dojo. Apparently Soun has some kind of hold over Ranma-chan (she is in male form when running the dojo, female form otherwise.) Apparently Ranma-chan is married to Soun.

And the child, Hiro, a boy, is theirs.

Akane and Nabiki have moved out, and so has Kasumi, although she moved in with Dr. Tofu. Ranma-chan visits Nodoka and it's revealed that the only way Ranma-chan and Soun have sex is for him to get her drunk. Nodoka also says it's a woman's duty to have sex with her husband.

Three years pass and they are still married. Akane returns to take lessons from Ranma. Ranma-chan is now technically Akane's mother. Ranma-chan has become cold and aloof, carrying a katana like her own mother but much better with it.

What happened originally is finally explained. Akane hit Ranma with a frying pan into the pool (again), but this time Ranma-chan went nuts and attacked everyone and basically raped Soun.

People still get together to celebrate Ranma-chan's birthday. Akane has a new boyfriend, Nabiki is single and maybe not even looking, and Kasumi had married Tofu and they have at least one child.

Soun is dying, somehow poisoned by all the sake he has drunk. Ranma-chan knew what was going on, but she did nothing to warn him. Soun basically rapes Ranma-chan when they have sex and enjoys hurting her.

Soun finally dies.

All three sisters are able to see the bruises and scratches that are on Ranma-chan's body and they are all happy Soun is dead and they comfort Ranma-chan.

Ranma-chan is taking Hiro on a training trip with her, but not like the one Genma took her on. Akane decides to follow her into the wilderness.

Chapter 2

Akane has joined up with Ranma-chan and Hiro. Meanwhile, Ranma-chan's thinking processes have become sort of domesticated, in a way, compared to what Ranma's thought processes were.

Ranma-chan is making breakfast at their camp when Ryoga appears, and he doesn't recognize her at first. It's revealed that Ryoga had apparently beaten up Ranma-chan while she was still pregnant.

The story describes just what happened, and how Ryoga nearly killed Ranma-chan.

Ryouga realizes that Ranma-chan is much more mature than she was.

Chapter 3

Ranma-chan is working on getting Akane and Ryoga together as a couple.

However, Akane gets mad at Ryoga and, using her mallet, sends him quite a considerable distance away.

Akane is still attracted to Ranma, though.

Somewhere Kuno is having another one of his fantasies.

Nabiki and Akane have an argument, and Ranma-chan gets upset with both of them for arguing.

Nabiki tries to tell Akane that her scheme for getting Ranma back and things as they were just won't work.

Kuno is undergoing psychiatric treatment for delusional schizophrenia. It's also revealed that at some time he had assaulted Akane. Some woman frees him from the institution, though, and she has martial skills herself.

Chapter 4

Some female was planning to kill Ranma-chan but found out she was pregnant and did not do so.

Kodachi is out of the hospital and seems to be mentally stable now. And ashamed of what she did in the past.

Ukyou has another restaurant, but has no boyfriends; she is still centered on Ranma. She has tried to adopt a child so her father can have an heir, but she is constantly turned down. Ranma-chan arrives to visit her. Konatsu comes back to the restaurant after Ranma leaves and finds the gas had been left on (by Ukyo, but he doesn't know that), and Ukyo's passed out, holding a sake bottle.

Kasumi and Ryouga talk, and then there's a flashback to the time when Ranma-chan was pregnant with Hiro. Kodachi meets with Ranma-chan and warns her that Kuno has escaped.

Ukyo joins them and they all go to eat at Uyko's restaurant.

Chapter 5

Kodachi has really gotten herself together, and is the head of the family businesses.

It's possible that a gas Kodachi had made and put on some roses is what sent Ranma-chan into the sexual frenzy that resulted in her having sex with Soun and becoming pregnant.

Ranma-chan and Ukyo get along pretty well. Konatsu (the guy who wears girl's clothes) still works for her. Tsubasa (the guy who was in disguises all the time) she kicked out and is angry with.

Ukyo agrees to be Hiro's godmother.

Ranma-chan and Ukyo kiss.

Meanwhile Kuno is at a cemetery destroying Soun's tombstone. The female figure is with him.

Chapter 6

Tsubasa shows up and says Ranma-chan will be out of the way soon. Ukyo decides she needs to go to China (where Ranma-chan has gone) to warn her.

Kuno attacks and threatens to kill Hiro and almost kills him. Ranma passes out from the pain in a cracked rib in her side.

Ranma-chan wakes up and Cologne is there. Kuno has been captured and dumped into a pit. Shampoo and Moose have married. Perfume is Shampoo's mother and is a healer. Cologne has aged. Shampoo is in training to be a member of the Council.

Chapter 7

Ranma-chan meets Shampoo's two children, one of them adopted. Ranma-chan is still not in good physical shape at all due damage to her ribs.

There's a flashback to when Hiro was born which shows more of the tension around Ranma-chan and how she withdrew into herself.

Kasumi, Nabiki and Nodoka are all going to China to find Ranma-chan.

Moose, who still dislikes Ranma, talks to Ranma-chan about some kind of truth serum that Cologne gave the Shampoo and the others that wanted Ranma for their own.

Meanwhile Akane and Ryouga are having a grudge match. In the woods near the village Ranma-chan talks to Sasuke and it seems Kodachi is also coming to join them.

Hiro and a girl from the village end up going to the cursed springs to spar. Ranma-chan goes to stop them and Saffron makes an appearance.

Chapter 8

Tofu looks at a photo album that is Kasumi's and sees the differences in the entire family after their birth-mother had died.

A woman named Kiima is accompanying Saffron, and she and Akane start to get into a fight, but Happosai suddenly appears and both women have to fend him off from his groping.

The female who freed Kuno is in the village.

Then there's a flashback to the time shortly after Hiro's birth when Ranma-chan returned to the dojo. She and Nodoka talk. Nodoka and Kodachi had a showdown at the time.

Nodoka had pressured Ranma-chan on the basis of honor to marry Soun and stay with him.

Ranma-chan tells a story to the Amazons and the others that are there.

Ranma-chan and the those with her go to the cursed springs where she locates the spring of drowned man. Ryoga enters it and this does away with his piglet curse.

Unfortunately for Ryoga, this causes Akane to realize he was P-chan and he ends up on the wrong side of her mallet.

Chapter 9

Another flashback, this time to Hiro still being a baby. Nodoka explains how she met Genma.

Ranma-chan has gone to visit the Musk. Meanwhile Ukyo arrives at the Amazon village.

Ryoga arrives in time to help Ranma-chan. Herb hates her and underestimates what she is capable of. Later Ranma-chan goes to use the kettle that would lock her in female form forever.

Tsubasa is on the way to the village.

Ranma-chan and Ryoga run into Nabiki, Kasumi and Nodoka, and Ranma-chan tells her mother that she is now forever a female.

When they get back to the village Ranma-chan is arrested. Apparently Shampoo is pressing the long-ago Kiss of Death and Ranma-chan is to be executed the next day.

Happosai steals Hiro and meets up with Genma. Happosai then returns to wreck more havoc in the village, but Ranma-chan has become incredibly powerful with her ki and she nearly kills him.

Ranma-chan and Ryoga catch up to Genma and she confronts him. Ranma-chan and Ryoga return to the village where one elder is still demanding that Ranma-chan be executed, but no one is following her orders any more. Akane and Kodachi have disappeared, and it seems that is due to someone who is going insane.

Saffron was also taken and is found, but very badly beaten up.

Chapter 10

Kuno has been freed from his cell.

As Ranma-chan and Ryoga are leaving to hunt for Akane, Shampoo, Ukyo and Kodachi they are attacked by Tsubasa and the insane matriarch. Ranma-chan has no choice but to kill both of them with her katana.

They later find Shampoo and Kodachi, Shampoo beaten badly and Kodachi beaten ever worse. A few minutes later they find Ukyo. Then Ranma-chan finds Akane, naked, obviously having been raped.

Prince Herb and his helpers show up, wanting to make Ranma-chan his bride, and then Kuno shows up. Ranma-chan fights then and dispatches them with ease. Akane has been made pregnant by her attacker.

Nabiki and Ranma-chan talk and Nabiki is able to come to terms with the many things she did to Ranma when he was younger, like all the photos.

Ukyo and Ranma-chan have a talk. Ukyo douses herself with water from the spring of drowned man, and it looks like she, now a he, and Ranma-chan could become a couple.

Happosai has died. Cologne dies of old age.

Hint

Another flashback. More from the time when Ranma-chan lived at the dojo, but before the incident with Soun. A number of things happen, including the truth serum thing when Ranma told Shampoo that there was no chance of their ever being a couple.

Cologne warns Ranma of something twisted and evil that was growing in Nerima.

Then the story describes what led up to when she had sex with Soun.

Chapter 11

Ranma-chan decides she wants to be called Keiko from now on. It also appears that she wants to marry Ukyo.

Keiko is able to abort Akane's child by using ki energy.

More scenes from the past and from different points of view such as Nabiki, Shampoo and Ukyo.

Back to the present. Akane attacks Keiko. She kicks Keiko in the side, breaking her rib. Ukyo tries to help Keiko, but Akane beats her up.

Akane then tries to kill Hiro. Saffron manages to kill Akane.

Epilogue

Keiko and Ukyo are married and start a restaurant. A whole new extended family is started. Genma remains in China. Ryoga still wanders around, lost, but manages to find the restaurant once in a while. Keiko ends up pregnant by Ukyo.
