Iris Series Part 4: Destination Unknown

Review

Again, another good story in the series. Mostly centering on the relationship between Kuno and Ranko, it does a good job of seeing just how much Ranko is going through, how her dealing with her old self goes, and how she finally develops a willingness to basically start over and see where her relationship with Kuno leads.

Synopsis

The story opens with Ryouga proposing to Akane, who replies that she needs to talk to Ranko first about it.

Akane talks to Ranko while they are in the bathing area and tells her that she plans to marry Ryoga. Ranko is both happy and sad at the same time, but she says their marriage is ok with her.

Ranko ends up getting drunk, though, and comes on to Kuno who suggests they just sit and look at the stars.

The next day she apologizes to Kuno and they arrange to have a date in two weeks if Ranko is still willing to have a date with Kuno.

Kuno goes to visit Kodachi who is in the same mental hospital that he was in.

Ranko is looking at dresses for her date and tells Kasumi, Akane and Nabiki that she is in love with Kuno after all.

When Ranko and Kuno return from their date, Ranko kisses him and enjoys it.

Later, Ranko and Kuno have a long talk, Ranko telling him that she won't be a traditional wife and Kuno professing his love for her no matter what.
