Joan Lindsay: A Time for Everything

The article can be found: here.

The main points of the article include:

1. Joan Lindsay had an unusual attitude towards time.

2. Clyde School was the model for Appleyard College. It's a school that Joan Lindsay attended.

3. There was a Miss McCraw as a teacher at Clyde when Joan Lindsay was there.

4. That Miss McCraw wrote that she took some girls on a photographic tour of the Rock in 1919. There were some similarities to the novel. (They are not really significant, though, in my opinion.)

5. There's a lot of material on Joan Lindsay's real life.

6. The publisher requested that the final chapter be deleted before publication. (This is the chapter with her explanation of what happened as far as the disappearances went.)

7. The footnotes have a reference to a book about the “solution” to the mystery but as far as I can tell it's out of print and expensive in used book stores.
