On Sunday, February 8th, 1998 The Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club presents the 11th annual Picnic at Hanging Rock. Hanging Rock is a unique formation about 75 Km (roughly 45 miles) NW of Melbourne, Victoria, in Australia, and sits amidst a beautiful bushland setting with lots of tall shady trees.

All "collectible" vehicles are welcome, regardless of whether they are original or modified. In 1997 over 1200 display vehicles attended the picnic with a similar number of "spectator" vehicles. Cars on display ranged from the shaky veterans of the early 1900s through to the fire breathing muscle cars of recent years, and vary in condition from "off the farm" to 100% restorations.

Activities on the day include rocker (valve) cover racing, spark plug changing contest, face painting and novelty races for the kids, an aerial display by the Australian Airforce's Troubadours and much more!

There is no charge for any of these activities. The only charge is the nominal entry fee to the Hanging Rock Reserve which applies every day of the year and is set at $5.00 per car. The Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club recovers its expenses through the sale of souvenir T-shirts, bumper badges and a raffle. There is no obligation to purchase any of these items.

Refreshments are available at Hanging Rock Reserve and there are a limited number of barbecue facilities. We suggest you bring a picnic lunch.

Because of the large number of cars expected, we cannot reserve spaces for anyone. As each car arrives, it is directed to the next available parking spot. If you wish to park with your friends, be sure to arrive together!
