Archie The Shadow #4

The cover shows a dark-haired Shadow (in some other issues he has blond hair), green cape and purple outfit. Definitely not the choice of outfit for the traditional Shadow.

Shiwan Khan is plotting destruction of the Shadow, and a Nazi, Dr. Demon, gets off a plane somewhere in Europe. The story happens after the end of World War II. Hitler is dead, but Dr. Demon and other Nazis still exist. Dr. Demon wants to destroy both the Shadow and Shiwan Khan, who he sees as a competitor to his desire to take over the world.

A month later the Shadow is in Berlin. He knocks out two of Khan's henchmen, and hypnotizes a third into taking him to Khan's headquarters.

We find out that it is 19 years after the end of the war, making the year 1964.

Dr. Demon invades Khan's headquarters and so does the Shadow. Khan plays a trick and thinks he's killed both of them, but Dr. Demon has a disintegrator weapon and they are able to escape, then the Shadow gets the weapon and all three are together again.

Dr. Demon flees and blows up Khan's bulding. The Shadow is riding underneath the helicopter that Dr. Demon is using. Khan, of course, escaped the explosion of his building.

The Shadow is captured after been nearly electrocuted, but before Dr. Demon can have him destroyed Khan invades. The Shadow is blindfolded. Dr. Demon threatens to kill both of them, so Khan removes the Shadow's blindfold, allowing him to hypnotize the Nazis. Dr. Demon flees (whether he survives or not is left to question) and Khan flees.

The second story is entitled The Human Bomb, and has a guy in a hooded outfit covered by sticks of dynamite, something very near to what has happened into today's world with the suicide bombers.

Lamont gets a death threat. Margo and Shrevy, the car driver, plan to try and stop the menace themselves. Lamont changes into his Shadow disguise and he hypnotizes them, then plans to wait for the guy himself.

He hypnotizes the bomber and stops him from blowing everyone up.
