Crime Classics #12

The Shadow reveals that the guy posing as Roy's uncle is not really his uncle at all. It turns out to be the uncle's secretary who had the real uncle killed and swindled Roy out of some bonds he should have gotten.

Roy and Margo get away, leaving the Shadow to pose as the uncle. When the pose no longer works, he turns out the lights on the crooks who are now in the room with him.

The crooks think they are going after the Shadow through a trap door, but they are really falling, literally, into the hands of the police who were waiting beneath. The evil secretary, meanwhile, is chased by the Shadow and ends up being shot by the police.

Another story then starts, but it doesn't have a title.

Margo and Lamont listen in to a strange phone call. They know who made the call, but when they go to the woman's residence they find a crook trying to force her to get into a cab.

Margo is forced into the cab with the woman and the driver's plan is to jump out and let the cab go into the river. Meanwhile, the Shadow has to fight a crook that is trying to kill him.

Adele is the name of the woman, and she's rich.

The Shadow checks the apartment of a guy named Varne. He owes a lot of money in gambling debts and wants to sell Adele's factory to pay them off.

The Shadow is in his cab and notices it's being followed. He gets out, hides, and jumps onto the pursuing cab.
