Lamont goes to meet Paul Varne who is trying to sell the factory without his sister's permission. The Shadow, Margo and Adele go to a boat house at night to investigate but there's a bunch of crooks there.
The Shadow and his helpers overcome the crooks and find out they were going to blow up a boat and make it look like Adele had been killed so Paul would have the factory all to himself, which he could then sell.
The lawyer is the crook, though, and ends up being captured by the police, who were tipped off by the Shadow.
Then there's another story, also unnamed.
Lamont and Margo are going to investigate some robberies at a hotel. On the plane trip there the pilot dies and Lamont has to land the plane.
A fake psychic seems to be behind the murders, attempted murders, and robberies, but it turns out to be someone else entirely.
