The Shadow #3

A Japanese Zero shoots down a Russian plane. There is reference made to a bidding war for a 'spirit weapon.' Lamont has a meeting at a restaurant and he knows some assassins will be sent after him.

Wong meets with the Japanese representatives who are totally disrespectful. One of them says that Hirohito is a god and that he rules the conquered territories. This is the way thing were actually thought by the Japanese at the time, that Hirohito was actually a living god and that his will was supreme. The historical accuracy of this series is quite interesting.

It's also interesting how the Lamont's relationship with Margo is different. She's not entirely fond of him, to put it mildly. The Shadow wipes out one mob and there goes after some more 'scum of Nippon.' The Shadow even uses a machine gun.
