The Shadow #8

This issue is about Lamont Cranston and politics, and also about his actions as the Shadow. He kills a guy early on. The story is about political upheaval in Spain with Franco in charge. Lamont meets a beautiful woman who is in charge of intelligence.

Then everything falls apart. Lamont ends up having sex with the woman. What the heck? Lamont having sex with a woman does not fit the mythos of the Shadow. Lamont having sex with a woman who is the head of intelligence for one of the sides makes even less sense.

Then a second really major mistake. Lamont is out walking and bumps into a guy. Lamont then says 'my bad.' Excuse me, but the events take place decades ago. 'My bad' would not have been said by anyone. How could any writer for this series make mistakes like these?
