November, 1940. The issue contains a number of other stories. Lamont gets a telegram about some guy wanting to buy mining stock he holds. A thug kills the guy, but the Shadow gets there in time to catch the thug. The thug escapes, but the Shadow had time to find clues to what was going on.

The story has the Shadow using his autogyro. The Shadow and Margo investigate and another guy dies. Later one of the Spanish-speaking villains sees the Shadow and refers to him as La Sombra, which is what the Shadow magazine was called in South America.

Lamont and Margo confront the crooks later, and Lamont gives Margo a gun. One of the crooks dies before they even get to him. Later Margo fires a mortar at the crooks while the Shadow shoots at them. The feds arrive and arrest the survivors.
