Fingers of Death

This is the 25th Shadow story. It was published in the March 1, 1933 issue of Shadow Magazine, and has been published as a paperback and as a trade paperback from Blackmask Online.

It's a really good Shadow story. The main characters are Joshia Bartram, a wealthy but ill guuy, and his Hindu servant, Machinda. Grace is his niece and is engaged to a guy named Saybrook.

The story starts off with Bartram attacked by what becomes known as the 'Fingers of Death.' He is not the first, either, for one after another various guys are killed. Everything centers are some ill-gotten gains that have been hidden away for twenty years, but whose location will soon be revealed.

Six guys were in the original plot, but for each guy less, the rest get proportionally more money. If only one guy is left, he could clean up.

Except for the Shadow. As usual, the Shadow is his brilliant self, trying to help when he can, but dealing out justice to evil-doers when he has to. Harry Vincent plays a fairly prominent role in the story.

Lots of action and the evil-doers pay for their crimes. Typical Shadow goodness!
