Murder Marsh

This is book 63 in the Shadow pulp series. Again, it's a really good story. This one involves a towns leaders who are really crooks and manage to store away loads and loads of bonds.

Cliff Marsland is the first Shadow agent that we see. A crook wants revenge on a judge who sentenced him to prison. Later, the main story involves, centering around an old mansion right by a swamp, with the owner now dead and the search for the heir on. A guy named Ludwig is murdered, and later a detective is also killed.

Clyde Burke and Harry Vincent are sent to the town by the Shadow and they communicate with him via Rutledge Mann. There's another death at the mansion, a variety of crooks, some guy and his group building a causeway, and a strange, very powerful person living in a shack.

There's action, too, as the Shadow battles with the evil-doer and a group of thugs. Eventually the real heir is revealed and the stolen loot is found.
