The Third Shadow

If one Shadow is good, wouldn't three be better? Not when two of them are really thieves who impersonate the Shadow in order to get riches.

The story starts off with one guy dying and the Shadow in his Fritz the janitor disguise. Fortunately Cardona and Weston both know about the fake Shadows and they basically sit back and let the Shadow handle his own problems. Hawkeye and Marshland are both Shadow agents that get involved.

Complicating matters is that the two fake Shadows are not working together, but one of them has thought about bumping off the other, making a final haul, and then scramming.

It's rather a complex story but, as with other Shadow stories, it's quite good and the crooks learn that the weed of crime bears bitter fruit.
