Murder on Approval, 5-21-1938

Goodrich tires ad starts the show.

Some guy is talking to a general about being able to infect people with a disease. (An early use of biowarfare.) Doctor Calanza (I doubt that's the right spelling, but it sounds like ca-lan-za.)

Anyhow, the doctor suggests a field test of the bioweapon. The general goes along with the idea. He suggests an army base in the US to test the weapon.

Then the scene shifts to an army base where there is some kind of ball being held. Margo Lane and Lamont are both there the day after a new disease has started.

The evil scientist is there. The other doctor that is there is working with Calanza. Two hundred men are revealed to be sick. One guy says the base is under quarantine, but if it's under quarantine, they why are Margo, Lamont and other non-military people there? How did Calanza get into the base as a respectable doctor?

Lamont thinks it's some kind of Oriental disease. He wants to take a look himself but the military man and the evil scientist say he can't look.

Lamont says he's going to go inside as the Shadow.

Then it's time for the commercial. Again, they use the voice of the Shadow during the commercial.

Then it's back to the play. The Shadow talks to a sick man and he finds out something about broken glass. A relative of the traitor doctor that is working with the evil scientist is one of those who has come down with the disease.

Calanza says there is no cure for the disease. Later the Shadow talks to Dr. Harris, the traitor, alone.

Dr. Harris leaves and the Shadow ends up finding him later, telling the doctor about how he dropped a glass with the disease germs in them. Harris runs again, and again the Shadow follows him. The Shadow works on getting Harris to force Calanza to tell him how to stop the disease.

The Shadow gets the Colonel on the base to follow him and leads him to Harris' office. Harris has a gun and threatens Calanza with it. Calanza apparently rushes Harris and shoots him. Then the Shadow confronts Calanza and takes the formula. The Colonel then shoots Calanza. The Shadow gives the Colonel the formula for the cure for the disease.

Then there's the normal closing for the show.
