Murder by the Dead

Originally aired on October 17, 1937

The show opens with a court case. The prisoner is found guilty of murder. The crook claims he will get revenge against the judge, the attorney and the jury foreman. The judge sentences the man to death.

Lamont Cranstan arrives back in America. Margo tells him that the district attorney at the trial was murdered. It was Margos father that was the foreman of the jury. The guy was hung. Cranston thinks its a coincidence that the attorney was murdered.

The judge is in a library. Supposedly the dead guy appears to him. The supposed ghost than shoots the judge and kills him.

The police commissioner interviews the housekeeper. Suddenly he hears the sound of the Shadow on the telephone. The commissioner orders the murderers body to be dug up.

The Shadow is on the radio broadcasting to his agents.

They dig up the murderers coffin. They take off the lid and theres no one inside; its filled with bricks. Then they hear the Shadows voice.

Margo had gone to the prison to find out what happened to the bodies of executed men. A family member supposedly had come to claim the body of the murderer. The guy there had told her that a doctor had come to pick up the unclaimed body. She managed to get the doctors address.

The Shadow goes to visit the doctor who took the murderers body. The doctor refuses to tell the Shadow how he brought the guy back from the dead. The doctor is a certifiable nutcase. The doctor doesnt care that the murderer killed two more men.

The doctor kills himself (he had claimed he could bring himself back to life.)

Margos father leaves his house even though he had been warned he was supposed to stay at his home. The murderer takes the place of his driver somehow and tries to give the guy a heart attack. The guy has fainted. Then the Shadow starts talking while the guy is driving the car crazily. The car hits a tree head-on. Margos father is ok, but the murderer has died due to a broken neck.
