The Final Hour, Oct. 31, 1954

Characters include Jim Martin, a young man convicted of murder; Sam Walker, the man whose testimony convicted Martin; Laura Walker, his older sister; Andy Barton, the owner of the tavern where the murder took place, and the prison warden.

This is also another synopsis done from a script.

Lamont is in the prison talking to the prison warden. He believes Jim Martin is innocent, as does Commissioner Weston. Martin is due to be executed in five hours. The guy who testified against Martin had lied.

At the tavern, Sam Walker is having mental problems. Margot is assigned the task of talking to Sam's sister. The Shadow talks to Sam. The tavern over returns and Sam goes running out of the bar to his home, badly shaken up by what the Shadow has said.

Margot talks to Laura who doesn't believe that her brother would lie. Sam comes home and there are only 25 minutes left until Martin is executed.

Lamont talks to Margot and tells her he expects Andy Barton to come to Sam's house. He has managed to find out from Sam that there is a written confession that Sam is lying and he tells Margot to tell the police commissioner that the paper is somewhere in Sam's house.

Barton shows up and threatens Sam, but the Shadow knocks the gun out of Barton's hand, allowing Sam to call the governor and stop the execution.
